New Orleans Saints to sit

Jared Cook

This might not be what any Saints’ fan wants to hear with Cook having his first game back since his injury, but Cook does not offer the upside that the normal TE position has in past years on the New Orleans Saints.

I have a feeling that he will play in less than 50% of the snap share and that they will ease him back into work.

With that being said, this makes Jared Cook a touchdown-dependent start if you’re desperate in a heavy bye week. However, I doubt he sees that touchdown.

Tre’Quan Smith

After the bye week, this is another New Orleans Saints name that has been buzzing around the waiver wire. The Saints have been in desperate need of a consistent counterpart to Michael Thomas. They thought Smith or Keith Kirkwood would be able to fill that need.

Unfortunately, the first half of the season saw them both plagued with injury. Even though he was a participant in practice this week, I still think Ted Ginn gets the start over him and he sees maybe two targets with one catch in his return to the field.

New Orleans Saints Defense

This one might have you puzzled a little bit seeing that they are playing the 1-7 Atlanta Falcons, but do not let the 1-7 fool you. Matt Ryan will be back this week and with a healthy Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley, the Falcons passing game is still one to be feared.

Do not mistake me, there is no way I think the Falcons will pull out a win, but in terms of fantasy points, I think they do just enough damage to make the Saints’ defense an unusable and bench able player this week.
