The Saints’ secondary has been impressive

The Jacksonville Jaguars have put up 53 points in the last two weeks. They’ve been put on the back of rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew, but he’s about to run into Marshon Lattimore, who has been on an absolute tear.

More from Who Dat Dish

Lattimore held Cooper under 50 yards in Week 4 and then kept Mike Evans catchless for just the second time in his career last week. That said, Lattimore will likely be placed on wide receiver DJ Chark.

Already with double his rookie year yardage, Chark has exploded onto the scene as Minshew’s favorite target. While the team has multiple capable receivers, it’s Chark that’s really been catching the eye of fans. After all, he did explode for 164 yards last week.

He’ll likely be erased in Week 5. However, that’ll just open up some opportunity for Dede Westbrook. He has to be Minshew’s guy in Week 6 as the Saints have been taking away quarterback’s favorite target the last few weeks.

It’s also necessary to mention the impact of Vonn Bell. With a forced fumble and multiple fumble recoveries this season, Bell has been terrific and continues to help this Saints secondary impress its doubters.

Limiting Minshew’s options will be a huge reason why the Saints will down them in Week 6.
