3. Find Playmakers
In last year’s loss to the Cowboys, both Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas struggled to get going, which led to only 111 passing yards and a measly 65 on the ground.
Teddy Bridgewater needs to find targets who will be able to spread the field. Jared Cook and Ted Ginn Jr. could possibly be mismatch nightmares if they can get going. Everyone knows how deadly Kamara can be in the receiving game as well.
The Saints failed to get the ball in Michael Thomas’ hands early against the Seahawks. He didn’t have a single target in the first quarter. That’ll be a problem if it repeats itself against the Cowboys. Getting Kamara and Thomas involved will be crucial.
Outside of those four, the Saints may struggle to find additional weapons as both Tre’Quan Smith and Kieth Kirkwood may be out in Week 4. That said, we’ll see if Bridgewater can work his magic and get his playmakers involved in Week 4.
If Teddy Bridgewater can put the Cowboys defense on its heels, they can get their first Sunday Night Football win without Drew Brees.
