Showing a strong mix of run-blocking, pass-catching and a ground-and-pound game, Devine Ozigbo was cut just like Arnold and Butler.

Unlike the other two, Ozigbo didn’t stand a chance to make the practice squad, being snatched up by the Jaguars. There were three different teams that wanted a claim on Ozigbo, but he’ll be headed to Jacksonville.

Undrafted out of Nebraska, Ozigbo fell 15 yards short of 1,300 all-purpose yards his senior season. With the New Orleans Saints, he showcased similar attributes that almost got him drafted.

Per Pro Football Focus (premium content), Ozigbo was given 83.0, 77.3, and 76.9 in receiving, drops and pass-blocking throughout his four preseason games for an overall rating of a 72.9. He totaled 61 yards on 9 receptions.

On the ground, he was rated a 67.0, securing a 4.4 average off 21 carries for almost 100 yards. Combine all those, and it’s clear that Ozigbo was a force throughout the preseason. However, so was the team’s third-string back Dwayne Washington.

The team will keep a fullback, Washington, Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray to operate in the backfield.
