The Saints are just a few days away from their second preseason game. Here’s what to watch for as the New Orleans Saints travel to take on the LA Chargers.

Your New Orleans Saints will be back in action on Sunday at 3 p.m. This time, they’ll be traveling to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers, a team that will also be a Super Bowl contender in 2019.

The Saints dropped their first preseason game at home to the Vikings. After being down 12 entering the fourth quarter, New Orleans cut the Minnesota lead to two prior to giving up a 64-yard, game-winning run to Mike Boone with just half the quarter remaining.

While ultimately this game will matter very little, the second and third units that got time were at large not overly impressive. This Week 2 matchup will be another opportunity for them to showcase their talents as the regular season continues to near.

The status of New Orleans’ legend Drew Brees is still unknown.

That said, the Saints backup Teddy Bridgewater, who solidified his spot after a dominant Week 1 performance, may get the start after totaling 134 yards and one touchdown, ending the game with a 110.4 passer rating.

As for Los Angeles, their star quarterback Phillip Rivers did not suit up in Week 1. Their superstar running back Melvin Gordan III, who is amidst contract negotiations, was also out. Just about every notable offensive player for LA sat, which may be duplicated against New Orleans.

While the stars may not be out, let’s dive into what fans can watch for in Week 2 action.
