Best and worst from New Orleans Saints Preseason Week 1 loss

The Best of the Offense: Teddy Bridgewater
While not a stellar performance from Teddy Bridgewater, he did give a glimpse of the athlete that put the league on notice a few seasons ago. Ending the game with a QB rating of 110.4, Bridgewater was excellent in the few drives he was in for.
Completing 14 of his 19 attempts for 134 yards and a touchdown, Bridgewater kept the Vikings lead within reaching distance with his second-quarter touchdown with just 44 seconds remaining. Bridgewater solidified himself as the clear backup quarterback if he wasn’t already.
Offensively, the team didn’t see much of Alvin Kamara or Michael Thomas, combining to secure just seven touches. That said, Bridgewater was definitely the highlight for the Saints on that side of the ball.
The Best of the Defense: Demario Davis
Playing just 12 snaps, Davis ended the game with three tackles, tied for the team-high. Although fans would’ve liked to see more of the team’s starting weak-side linebacker, the short glimpse was enough to keep them excited for the regular season to start.
Overall, this was a solid effort from Davis who contributed to the cause in his 12 snaps. Hurrying the quarterback one snap as well, Davis was actively involved on about a third of his snaps, a solid percentage for any linebacker.
