One of only a few current players on this list, Cameron Jordan hasn’t had too much trouble earning his stripes with the Saints. A former first-round pick and defensive wrecking ball, he’s quietly convinced the rest of the NFL that he’s not to be taken lightly.
Since coming to New Orleans in 2011, he’s started every single game the Saints have played except for one. During that time, he’s emerged as a dominant presence along the defensive line. Though he took a while to develop, he eventually asserted himself as a destructive force capable of terrorizing quarterbacks and blowing up the run game.
Despite playing as a 3-4 defensive end, Jordan has been a menace as a pass rusher. Over the last five years, he’s had three seasons with double-digit sacks, including a career-high 13 in 2017. That left him sitting in fifth place all-time on the Saints’ career sack list, just a few quarterback takedowns behind former teammate Will Smith.
If Jordan continues at his current pace, there’s no telling how high he could climb on that list and this list. Every year he seems to get a bit better. Even at 29 years of age, there’s still some room for growth for the Saints’ terrific defensive end.
