Who Dat Dish Podcast: 2018 Saints mock draft 2.0

1 of 7

With the 2018 NFL Draft only five days away, Who Dat Dish Podcast gives the final take on who the Saints will take to put them into Super Bowl contention.

Seems like it was just yesterday the Saints selected both Marshon Lattimore (11th overall) and Ryan Ramczyk (32nd overall) in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. It’s been nearly a year, and New Orleans has a chance to improve upon an already-impressive roster yet again.

The team has been very busy during free agency, filling roster holes with smart contracts. I talked about most of the moves in the 1.0 version Who Dat Dish Podcast mock draft and New Orleans keeps on adding. Wide receiver Cam Meredith, formerly of the Chicago Bears, is now a member of the Saints after the Bears declined to match an offer sheet. Meredith looks to become New Orleans’ third, even second option at receiver his year, if he’s healthy.

His contract is for two years and is worth about $10 million. With Brandon Coleman coming back, this seemingly locks up most of New Orleans’ receiving group going into training camp. That changes the dynamic and mindset for the Saints regarding who to target at the draft.

Value deal after smart contract, and New Orleans’ front office has given themselves much more flexibility and breathing room. Version two of four for The Who Dat Dish Podcast’s 2018 mock drafts is chock full of variety, much like it should be in reality.
