Who Dat Dish Podcast: Saints mock draft 1.0

Round 5, Pick 155: JoJo Wicker, DT/DE, Arizona State

Wicker is coming off a second-team all-PAC-12 junior season (42 tackles 13 tackles for loss, and six sacks). At 6’1″ and 297-pounds, his lack of appropriate size is the biggest concern. However, he’s versatile enough for Payton and Allen to try and develop him into a third down inside/outside hybrid rusher. There are options there to develop Wicker, and his athleticism makes him desirable.

Round 6, Pick 175: Nathan Shepherd, DT, Fort Hays State

The 6’-5”-Canadian-born defensive tackle has a rising stock. Nathan Shepard is projected anywhere from the third to sixth round, and could fall to the latter due to his non-immediate-impact implications. Shepard is a project tackle, who has a ton of raw potential. He has the size to compete in the NFL, even though he played against much lesser talent than most other prospects.
