Another team wearing the Black and Gold showed up on Sunday to shock the Carolina Panthers.
This is what Who Dat Nation was waiting for. This is what was expected for 2017. Arguably, the New Orleans Saints put together their first complete game since 2016 on Sunday in Charlotte.
The pressure was mounting, as the Saints were teetering at starting off 0-3 once again. However, the Saints responded with a vengeance and defeated the Carolina Panthers 34-13.
Surely, no one expected a blowout against the 2-0 Carolina Panthers. And I mean no one. Not your grandma or Uncle Bob in Alaska picked the Saints winning big after TWO lackluster performances. Brees felt it though.
The Saints’ defense picked off QB Cam Newton three times and sacked him four times. Strangely enough, this team surprised all of us. They did it through the air and on the ground with a balanced attack. Drew Brees put the ball up 29 times against 27 times rushing the football. This is exactly what the doctor ordered.
This is what the Saints envisioned, when getting three legitimate running backs playing in the backfield for 2017. Add that with a 5.5 average yard run, and the Panthers were no match for the Saints. This should be the recipe going forward next week against the Miami Dolphins in London. If you run it, they will be done.
