If there would be one player I’d most definitely recommend keeping an eye on, it would be CB Marshon Lattimore. Lattimore was selected by the New Orleans Saints with the 11th overall selection in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Lattimore’s various skills and his productivity that allowed him to flourish so much at Ohio State are only a couple of reasons why I believe Saints fans should keep a close eye on the rookie.

When I watched film on Marshon Lattimore, there is honestly a lot to enjoy about the cornerback. Lattimore is always consistent in his work, he’s a physical, naturally gifted athlete with the instincts to always play on the ball. Marshon Lattimore is a very driven, focused CB that possesses several amazing physical traits. His closing speed, his physicality, his strength, are only a few things that make him so intriguing. All that can be said is the Saints have an amazingly consistent, dominant, physical freak of a cornerback.

In Marshon Lattimore’s time with Ohio State, the cornerback compiled 45 total tackles, 34 solo, 1 tackle for a loss, and 4 interceptions. Although Lattimore’s numbers aren’t the flashiest, they don’t need to be. His actions speak for themselves. Here’s a perfect statistic regarding CB Marshon Lattimore to prove it: out of the 35 passes opposing quarterbacks threw in Lattimore’s direction, Lattimore was able to get his hands on 14 of those passes, either deflecting or intercepting them.

Saints fans should be keeping an eye on rookie CB Marshon Lattimore because of what he could help to accomplish for this Saints defense.

The reason why the Saints drafted Lattimore this past offseason is to help improve the talent in the secondary. With everyone the Saints lost last year due to injury, the team needed secondary reinforcements. The Saints need a lockdown cornerback opposite of CB Delvin Breaux, and now they just might have it. Marshon Lattimore possesses the necessary skills, and traits needed to truly help this Saints secondary get off the floor.
