This was a closer call than most people would think. In my opinion, George Rogers was the most talented back that these eyes have seen. The only reason that Rogers is not #1, because of his shortened career. But man was he good!

Rogers won the Heisman Trophy in 1980, NFL offensive Rookie of the Year in 1981, and a three time Pro Bowler. In 1992, South Carolina also named him to All Century Team as well. Rogers would go on to play for the Washington Redskins and help the team win a Super Bowl there.

Rogers was simply a once in a generation type player. His rookie season of 1,676 yards and 13 TD’s was one of the best seasons ever seen, before Who Dat Nation was born. Rogers just had the natural ability. He only played four years here, but they were some incredible memories.
