The Top 5 Monday Night Football games in New Orleans Saints history

Talk about a throwback! The New Orleans Saints came into this Monday Night Football game 0-6 on the big stage. Furthermore, the Saints had a three game losing streak against the Steelers that went back to 1969. The Saints only get the Steelers once every four years, and this one was “one for the books.”
In the first place, the Saints finished 8-8 in1983 and had reason to be optimistic heading into the 1984 season. The 8-8 season, by the way, was the best record since they began in 1967. Therefore, Fans had good reason to be hopeful.
Conversely, The Pittsburgh Steelers came into town with new QB Mark Malone and legendary receiver John Stallworth. Ever more, The Steelers had already won four Super Bowls in 1974, 1975, 1978, and 1979. This team though was different. The Steelers finished 10-6 the year before, and they were still trying to find a new identity with plenty of recent retirements
The Steelers started off quick with a 14-3 lead in the second quarter. However, Richard Todd threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to cut it to 14-13 by halftime. In the fourth quarter, Todd threw another TD to put the Saints on top for good 20-17. Dirt Winston sealed the deal with a 47-yard interception for a touchdown. The Saints finally win on Monday Night 27-24.
