Round 3, Pick 103: Eddie Jackson, S, Alabama

Jackson has raw talent, and would be a work in progress player. However, the Saints need all the depth they can get in their secondary. Jackson’s athleticism is his best trait, but he lacks greatness anywhere else. A couple of injuries have his future health in question as well. He does provides another medium, though: great return skills.

Jackson had 2 punt returns for touchdowns before suffering a broken leg in Alabama’s 8th game of the 2016 season. His ball instincts can be considered impressive, as he was a cornerback before he became a safety. Jackson’s tackling needs work, and he won’t start right away. But his value as a backup nickel back and lead punt returner makes him an important pick in this situation at this slot.
