Round 1, Pick 11: Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama

Foster is hands-down the most talented linebacker in this draft, and could fall to New Orleans at 11 in this scenario. Standing at 6’1″ and weighing in at 230 pounds, Foster is a strong and athletic backer with a very high football IQ. He was an unanimous All-American and Butkus Award winner (best linebacker in college) in 2016. Foster was also part of the dominant National Championship Alabama team in 2015.

His sideline-to-sideline speed and skill would be an immediate impacter for the Saints. Despite recent signings at the position, the team is still in desperate need of a playmaker for the second level of the defense. They also show a lack of defensive leadership. Foster has the smarts, skills and discipline to become a captain and lead the Saints’ defense to great seasons.
