The Saints will double up at the cornerback position here and draft Shaquill Griffin from UCF. Griffin’s stock has been rising as of late, and there’s virtually no risk at this point in the draft. Griffin stands at 6-foot-1 and weighs 194 lbs. He ran a 4.38 in the 40-yard dash. That has to get the attention of the Saints coaches.

The one stat that jumps out is that he’s allowed only 32.9% of passes completed thrown his way. Also, Griffin is a good tackler with nice pursuit to come up and make a play. His aggressiveness is his asset and expense. There are times where he can get a little over exuberant in his explosion to wanna make a tackle.

That can be coached up though. Drafting another cornerback makes sense for the Saints. My mock 4.0 is now complete. If the Saints can copy this blueprint then IT’S ON in 2017.
