Last but not least, the Saints pick a player to help their secondary. With the ongoing talks of bringing Malcolm Butler, the Black and Gold look to be setup at cornerback. Xavier Woods from Louisiana Tech is a solid pick here. Woods stands at 5-foot-11 and weighing just under 200 lbs. Woods was a first-team All-Conference USA player the last three seasons.

Woods can zip pretty fast as well with a 4.54 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. He has a knack for the ball causing plenty of turnovers with the Bulldogs. In three seasons, he’s picked off 14 interceptions and loves to poke the ball out.

The knock on Woods is that he doesn’t play for a big name team first. Louisiana Tech is rising though with coach Skip Holtz. Second, there is inconsistency from time to time from Woods. It’s more mental than physical which can be taught. With the right coaches, Woods can be a legitimate contributor at the next level with grooming. He could be one of three Louisiana Tech players that will be drafted in 2017.
