Budda Baker would be a phenomenal addition to the Saints secondary if available.

Reason For Selection: After Jairus Byrd’s departure, it would seem as if New Orleans now had another problem they need to address. They now lack depth at Safety and should hopefully address the need in the 2017 NFL Draft. Baker’s versatility and athleticism could amplify the Saints current secondary. The safety’s impressive components could also be used to bring a key element into the re-utilization of New Orleans’ 4-2-5 defense, consisting of 3 safeties and 2 cornerbacks.

What Budda Baker Brings To The Saints:

When I watch film on Budda Baker, the first observation I made: I can’t believe how athletic and quick Baker is. His ability to cover the field in a matter of seconds to stop opposing players is incredibly impressive. Baker’s speed and athleticism also allow him to be very successful when blitzing. Other attributes that generally stood out to me were Baker’s ability to recognize plays, where the ball would be heading, his general speed, and his versatility. During his career with Washington, Baker totaled 199 tackles (138 solo), 13 tackles for a loss, 4 sacks, 5 interceptions, 19 passes defended against, and 3 forced fumbles. Baker carries a unique skill set going forward that I’m sure would equate well professionally.
