Middle/Weak Side Linebacker

Free Agents: Jamie Collins (ILB/WLB) – New England Patriots, Dont’a Hightower – New England Patriots, Kiko Alonso – Miami Dolphins, Zach Brown – Buffalo Bills, Malcolm Smith – Oakland Raiders, Rolando McClain – Dallas Cowboys

Draft Prospect: Jarrad Davis (ILB/WLB) – Florida, Anthony Walker (ILB/WLB) – Northwestern, Jalen Reeves-Maybin (ILB/WLB) – Tennessee, Rueben Foster (ILB/WLB) – Alabama, Raekwon McMillan (ILB/WLB), Ohio State

The key word for this position class has to be “athleticism.” In free agency Jamie Collins and Dont’a Hightower obviously leads the pack. The New England Patriots has a lot of resigning to do this offseason and chances are one of the two could hit the market.

The big thing about this position though is the draft prospects. This is a really strong group. Of all the guys listed Jarred Davis from Florida be the best, but it’s close. Don’t be surprised if you see 3 or more of these guys picked in the first round.

The Saints spend quite a bit beefing up their linebacking corps this offseason, but they could look do to even more in next year’s draft.
