Lewis was simply enamored by the idea of playing football in the NFL. The idea seemed beyond far fetched for Lewis, who only played one year of high school football. He also decided that college wasn’t for him. So how could a guy that was 5-foot-8 and 170 pounds think about making that leap? He simply started with an indoor team called the Louisiana Bayou Beast. Then Lewis went to the New Orleans Thunder and the New Jersey Red Dogs. The road was not always a straight path. The only way to come to the NFL was to prove himself in the semi pro leagues. Lewis did just that.
