The New Orleans Saints 50 for 50 series continues: No.48, ‘Beer Man’ delivers

By Dean Mullen

Michael Lewis was a beer delivery guy at the age of 25. Now he might have been the fastest beer man, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves just yet. Lewis delivered beer to various bars around the New Orleans area. The most ironic thing about this story, is that his employment was literally within spitting distance of the Saint’s practice field. There is no doubt that Lewis had eyes on that field. The Budweiser plant was the place where he worked. It’s also a place that provides a stroll down memory lane. Who knew that this one time delivery driver would be inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame.
