First of all, it has to be established that we are VERY early in the Saints final roster process. Outside of a few spots, no positions on the roster are secure right now.

However, that doesn’t mean that some very interesting and important battles aren’t about to significantly ramp up over the coming weeks, and it all begins with the New Orleans Saints traveling to New England to face the Patriots in this season’s first preseason game on Thursday.

The Patriots are an excellently run organization, and are always loaded with talent. So, in many ways the Saints will gain as much (or more) from practicing with the Patriots as they will from playing them on Thursday. After looking at all the reports (and vines) from camp to this point, the following three camp battles are the ones I expect to be the most vigorous.
