Erik Harris, Safety

The Saints typically carry a bunch of defensive backs throughout the season, and several play supporting roles. Whether it will be because of injury or scheme, we have seen multiple safeties receive playing time over the last couple years.

So even though Erik Harris might not be in line for a starting spot, he could be one of the guys that impresses the coaches at training camp and shows he belongs on the roster and on the field on Sundays.

We all saw what happened the last time the Saints acquired a defensive back from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (Delvin Breaux), and while it might be unfair to expect anywhere near the same from Harris, he has the chance to impress coaches with his coverage and physicality.

Harris might be an underdog for 2016, especially after an early camp injury (undisclosed), but he is a guy took keep an eye on as the Saints go through training camp in West Virginia.
