Delvin Breaux as Daenerys Targaryen

The mother of dragons is possibly the most interesting character in the Game of Thrones saga. She was promised to the leader of a horde of Dothraki warriors by her brother, Viserys Targaryen, in exchange for the Dothraki to fight a war that will allow him to regain the iron throne.

Daenerys became the wife of the leader of the Dothraki tribe, Khal Drogo, and later revealed to be pregnant with his child. Drogo and the child inside Daenerys’ womb would tragically die and a clearly distraught Daenerys Targaryen would be reborn in a fiery scene that hatched three dragon eggs given to her as a gift. This led to Daenerys being titled “mother of dragons” by those that followed her.

The rebirth did not offer an easy road to greatness as Daenerys would find trouble leading a rag-tag group of former slaves and loyal Dothraki warriors through the desert, finding adversity in every city. While she still struggles to take back her rightful place on the iron throne, her hard work is paying off ever so slowly. She is well on her way to accomplishing every goal she has set.

Delvin ‘Chip’ Breaux was reborn as well and just as Daenerys has had to struggle to find his way back home. Delvin Breaux started as a high school defensive back for star-studded McDonogh 35 High School in New Orleans and in 2015 returned to the city he loves.

During Breaux’s senior season in high school he was severely injured on an attempted tackle gone wrong during a kickoff return. It would later be discovered he had broken the C4, C5 and C6 vertebrae in his neck. Breaux was told he should have died that night on the field. Breaux faced some dark years early with the inability to play at Louisiana State University and limited performances in the Arena Football League, but found success in the Canadian Football League.

Breaux arrived in New Orleans and had to re-learn the cornerback position to play at an NFL level. He was often penalized for being too aggressive down field. It didn’t take long, though, for Breaux to find his place and become the leader of the defensive backfield.

Now Breaux is starting the season as the top player in the Saints defensive backfield and the defense will only go as far as Breaux will take them. He is a natural-born leader that works hard and leads by example.
