Steven Ruiz of USA Today Sports recently put out his list of the Top 100 NFL players for 2016, and it has three New Orleans Saints featured.

Terron Armstead, Drew Brees, and Cameron Jordan all represent the black and gold. According to Ruiz, the list is designed to project which players will be the best for the upcoming season. It has nothing to do with last year’s performance, and takes into account any injury concerns.

Here’s what we said about Drew Brees, who was the third-highest rated quarterback on the list, behind Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers and New England’s Tom Brady. Coincidentally, Brees finished at No. 9 overall – which is the same as his jersey number.

"9. DREW BREES, QB SAINTSThe Saints’ record may have dropped off these last few seasons, but Brees is as good as he’s ever been. After spending last offseason dealing with questions about his arm strength, Brees went out and led the league in deep ball accuracy in 2015.Drew Brees was the most accurate passer on throws over 20 yards last season (50.6%)—sits at No. 78 on PFF’s list of the top players of 2015.— Pro Football Focus (@PFF) May 9, 2016From a national perspective, it’s good to see someone that hasn’t given up on the 37-year-old veteran. After all, Brees only inherited new toys during the offseason with Coby Fleener and Michael Thomas. As long as Sean Payton and Drew Brees pair up, then it is hard to believe that the Saints offense won’t be a threat to any opposing defense.Terron Armstead came in at No. 63, while Cameron Jordan was at No. 71 for the New Orleans Saints. If anyone had one gripe on the list, it would be the omission of cornerback Delvin Breaux. However, that could surely be a motivating factor for Breaux.
