Zach Strief

It’s a little interesting that the New Orleans Saints have so little offensive line experience on their roster compared to veteran tackle Zach Strief. Sure, you can point to center Max Unger (8 years) and Terron Armstead (4 years), but other than that the Saints’ line is very young and raw.

While Strief could surely give offensive line depth for the Saints, the reality is that cutting him could save the team $2.6 million if he were to be released right now. Ultimately, a younger and more inexperienced player would have to open the door for the team to make such a decision. Strief even acknowledged it in a WWL radio interview back in March.

Turning 33 in September, Strief’s best days may be behind him, but the unproven tackle depth after him almost solidifies himself a spot on the roster.
