5 New Orleans Saints on the ‘way too early’ 2016 roster bubble

Tim Lelito
Let’s not be mistaken, the guard battle will go back and forth over the next several months. That’s just the nature of the beast when you have promising young prospects mixed in with younger veterans. Tim Lelito may be taking first team reps, but he’s going to have to stay consistent to fend off others who are waiting for the opportunity. Undrafted rookies Landon Turner and Jack Allen both come to mind as players that could challenge Lelito, and it’s going to be a complete toss-up on who wins.
Just remember this. You don’t want just anyone protecting your assumed franchise quarterback, even if Brees is in the last year of his contract. If there’s a better option that presents itself over Lelito, then you’d take it too.
