Round 2, Pick 16

I am fully expecting Kevin Dodd to be off the board by the end of the first round. Shaq Lawson and Kevin Dodd are similar in their ability to be disruptive on the defensive line and their potential to be great NFL players. Dodd is more raw than Lawson, but the talent is there.

If you can get four man pressure on a regular basis, your defense has much more flexibility and taking Dodd is a clear no-brainer if he is available. He is a relentless pass rusher with an impressive burst off of the edge. Doesn’t play too wild and is able to sniff out screens or shed blocks to make tackles when the ball is around him.

The biggest knock against Dodd is only one year of big production and he still needs work on his pass rushing technique. He has a limited amount of college snaps but the talent and football intelligence are there. In a few years, you could be looking at all-pro production from him.
