The ‘early’ 7-Round New Orleans Saints mock draft

Round 4, Pick 14
Previous choice: Roberto Aguayo, K, Florida State
An unfortunate injury has really killed Jaylon Smith‘s draft stock. However, don’t tell him that. The Fighting Irish linebacker has worked hard and staying patient through his rehab to prove that teams should take a chance on him in 2016. The greatest question is: how far does he fall? In this particular mock, it was hard to pass him up as a fourth-round choice.

Smith is one of those rare breeds that possesses it all. He has size, speed, length, burst, pursuit, smarts, and a real knack in coverage. The New Orleans Saints reportedly had Smith on their radar at the end of January, and even though some reports state that the once projected Top 10 prospect may not even see action in 2016, he’s worth a look as someone you could stash on injured reserve. You hope that Smith doesn’t turn out to be the next Marcus Lattimore, but what if he became the next Willis McGahee?
