5 underrated free agents that should be on the New Orleans Saints radar

We’re less than one week away from the start of the 2016 NFL Season, which means free agency will be the big talk over the next several days. How will the New Orleans Saints fare?
The team has already had one big free agent visit with James Laurinaitis, have had rumored interest of bringing back veteran kicker Kai Forbath, and even signed kicker Josh Scobee. From what I’ve been told, the Saints will be primarily and heavily focused on improving their defense through free agency. Now, that doesn’t mean that other positions of need like offensive guard and tight end don’t go unaddressed. However, it would be smart to improve one of the league’s worst ranked defenses from a season ago.
I’ve given you 15 free agents that I believe would fit the New Orleans Saints scheme over the past couple of months. For a recap, here’s the list:
Olivier Vernon, DETransition tag by Dolphins 3/1- Kelechi Osemele, G
Trumaine Johnson, CBReceived franchise tag by Rams 3/1- Damon Harrison, DT
- Ladairus Green, TE
- Jeff Allen, G
- Robert Ayers, DE
- Mark Barron, OLB
- Adrian Clayborn, DE
- Jeremy Lane, CB
- Brandon Boykin, CB
- Nigel Bradham, OLB
Tyrunn Walker, DTSigned 1-year, $1.6 million deal with Lions- Rueben Randle, WR
- Josh Brown, K
I have not overlooked players like Danny Trevathan, Ramon Foster, Mohamed Sanu, and other high prized free agents. However, I’ve tried my best to focus on the most realistic targets for the black and gold. I give you my last five players that the Saints could and should potentially target over the course of March, which happen to be very underrated targets.
