Name: Joshua Garnett
School: Stanford
Size: 6-foot-4, 312 LBS
Arm length: 33 7/8 inches
Hands: 10 1/8 inches
Projected round: 2

New Orleans Saints emerging right tackle Andrus Peat would be very familiar with Garnett, as the former Stanford teammates would reunite after a year separated following Peat’s departure from the Cardinal football team a year ago to enter the draft.

A big, powerful frame highlighted by superb upper and lower-body strength, Garnett is similar to Vadal Alexander, as they both lack consistent balance and coordination.  If the Saints are looking for athleticism in their guards, neither guy is worth their time.  But again, this why they play guard and not tackle.

Garnett uses his lower-body strength to plant his feet, while using his upper-body power to often manhandle oncoming defenders.  However, slow feet tend to put him off-balance, which can cause him to lose his man and allow pressure into the backfield.  But it’s all fixable.  Garnett undoubtedly has the potential to make a day-one impact on an NFL offensive line.
