Mark Barron

An outside linebacker that can cover on a full-time basis is something the New Orleans Saints must acquire in 2016. Mark Barron, a safety/linebacker hybrid and former first-round pick, has had an interesting journey. After spending the first two seasons of his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Barron was traded to the St. Louis Rams in 2014. Barron then underwent a transition from safety to linebacker, and hasn’t looked back.

The NFL is starting to see more of these hybrid type players on defense, and the speed combination of a player like Barron would be desirable. Barron is an excellent run stopper, and would have little to no problem keeping up with opposing running backs and tight ends. Also, we know he isn’t afraid of hitting.
