Target: A’Shawn Robinson

School: Alabama

Position: DL

Size: 6-foot-4, 312 LBS

Projected Round: 1

Robinson’s name has been coming up a lot in talks surrounding the New Orleans Saints and their first-round pick, and for good reason — he’s a beast.  I mean, just look at that picture.  That’s a frightening grown man.

With the flexibility to play both defensive end and tackle, preferably in a 3-4 defense (which the Saints don’t run), he seems to have all the tools it takes to adjust to a new system.

The Saints have a very leaky run defense, but Robinson could come in immediately, plug the holes, fill the gaps, and improve the team in that department.  He’s big, mean, forceful, athletic, and best of all, he’s an experienced defensive lineman for a championship team and No. 1 defense at Alabama under head coach Nick Saban.  There’s a chance he finds his next home to be in New Orleans via the 12th overall pick.  His partner on the D-line isn’t too bad either…
