NFL Draft prospect: Cody Core
School: Ole Miss
Size: 6-foot-3, 205 LBS
My round projection: 7-FA

Cody Core is a raw talent who was overshadowed at Ole Miss by Laquon Treadwell, the best wide receiver in the nation and a possible target for the Saints in the first round if they want to secure a true No. 1 at the position.

Core has good size and big hands, who, like the rest of the receivers I’ve mentioned, uses his length and power to attack the ball in the air.  However, he must improve his consistency in route running and separation, otherwise he could have a tough time adjusting at the next level and making an NFL roster.

He stood out at the Shrine Game as a deep threat after securing 37 catches for 644 yards and four touchdowns in 2015.  He will be a project who could wind up a nice pick at the end of the draft.  Drew Brees could make this guy more dangerous than he projects to be in the Saints’ high-powered offense.

Core had his best two games of the year against Alabama, and in Ole Miss’ Sugar Bowl routing of Oklahoma State.
