Another SEC prospect to watch is Louisiana State University linebacker Deion Jones.  He is a one-year starter and is very athletic. He is a smaller linebacker weighing only 219 pounds at the Senior Bowl, but what he lacks in weight, he makes up for in speed.

I would expect him to put on some weight before the combine.  His speed grants him the ability to cover tight ends and backs in passing situations, which is what the Saints need from their linebackers.

Another trait that stands out is his special teams play.  When a guy cannot only start on defense, but also shine on special teams, it is always a positive sign for coaches.  Jones’ lack of experience hurts him at times, but with more repetitions, he should be good to go.
