Jeff Allen

The Saints need an answer at left guard with question marks surrounding the futures of impending restricted free agents Senio Kelemete and Tim Lelito. In 2015, the team tried a little bit of everything on the offensive line by shifting around players, and it didn’t exactly work.

Jeff Allen would be a great addition to the New Orleans Saints offensive line because he’s played in a variety of positions since entering the league in 2012. Allen has shifted from right tackle to right guard to left guard, where he saw extensive action for the Kansas City Chiefs from Week 7 on. Put it this way, Allen has the ability to play wherever the Saints would need him. Of Allen’s 441 snaps in 2015, he didn’t allow a single sack or hit on Alex Smith.

If the team were to land Allen and re-sign Kelemete, who I said was one of the free agents the team should keep in 2016, it provides some much-needed versatility if they keep Jahri Evans in the mix.
