Honorable Mention: RB Mark Ingram, RB Tim Hightower, C Max Unger

Before being placed on injured reserve for the final four games of the season, Ingram was on pace to be the first 1000-yard running back for the New Orleans Saints since 2006.  In addition to being a powerful runner, Ingram became a huge factor in the passing game in 2015, securing career-highs in both catches (50) and receiving yards (405).  He finished with 1,174 total yards, and if it weren’t for other players making noise, he would have easily landed on the top-five list.  You can thank a shoulder injury for that.

In Ingram’s absence, Tim Hightower rose to the occasion.  In the final four games, the workhorse totaled 84 carries, 327 yards and four touchdowns, and helped lead the Saints to a 3-1 record.  He added another 12 receptions for 129 yards.  Finishing the season strong, Hightower may have earned a contract for 2016.

After trading away Jimmy Graham, in return, the Saints received center Max Unger, who was the team’s second-best blocker and guardian to Drew Brees.  A slow start on his new team was quickly erased by consistency in both performance and health.
