Senio Kelemete

Excluding injured reserve and the practice squad, the Saints only have one guard returning to their 2016 roster as of right now, and that’s Jahri Evans. While Tim Lelito‘s play has been better overall, I’d give the slight edge to Senio Kelemete returning. Both Lelito and Kelemete are restricted free agents, and the team should be able to keep at least one of them.

Kelemete is a more versatile option for the Saints offense, as he’s been used as the backup center, both guard spots, and the sixth offensive lineman. He’s very smart (and Payton has publicly pointed that out), and has made the proper adaptations after being shuffled to different positions.

Tim Lelito has proven to be a huge asset in the running game, but is a big liability in pass protection. The Saints would be wise to look elsewhere for a left guard, if they choose to do so.
