Luke McCown‘s future is severely in question after landing on injured reserve with season-ending back surgery. McCown will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. Matt Flynn, who will turn 31 in June, is a very serviceable veteran to back up Drew Brees if he’s needed.

Brees spoke highly of being able to learn from Doug Flutie in his rookie season in San Diego, and the transition from college to the pros is often difficult. Remember, Grayson wanted to learn from Brees.
