5 New Orleans Saints playing for a 2016 job over the final three games

Edebali is not a bad player. He’s also not a great player. He’s an average talent who adds depth to the linebacker department and defensive line depending on where he lines up.
Inconsistency has been a factor. When given a shot, he sometimes takes advantage of the opportunity. Other times, he does not. He’ll count for only $602,000 against the cap, and just a tiny fraction in dead money at $2,000 if the Saints do part ways with him.
While the Saints’ pass rush continues to struggle, there’s a great chance Edebali returns to New Orleans next year. But to make those chances greater, the Germany native will have to finish strong in these final three games.
