1. The Atlanta Falcons are bad too

At the beginning of the season, the Atlanta Falcons looked like the best team in the NFC South and a club well on its way to a playoff berth.  That was, until the New Orleans Saints dismantled and handed them their first loss of the year after a 5-0 start.

Since then, the “Dirty Birds” have only won one game.  That’s right — they’re 6-6 and in third place in the division.  In fact, they’re one of few teams with a losing streak worse than the Saints, dropping their last five compared to New Orleans’ four.

In the end, the Saints are still playing their worst football of the Sean Payton-Drew Brees era, and it’s hard to get over that.  But at least the Falcons are bad too.  Right, Who Dat Nation?  Matt Ryan is playing awful ball at the moment if that helps.

New Orleans will have a chance for the series sweep to close out the season.  Maybe they can even put a little wining streak together and knock Atlanta down into the NFC South cellar.  Just look at the next four weeks as a fight for the bronze medal in an effort to prove the Saints reign supreme over the Dirty Birds.  But then again, that would mean a lower draft pick.
