The New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers have released their second injury reports of the week ahead of Sunday’s NFC South showdown in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.  On Wednesday, Dannell Ellerbe said he hopes to play after missing the last four contests, but he did not practice.  Well, he returned to action Thursday in a limited capacity.  It’s progress.

We’ll continue to monitor the status of Dannell Ellerbe as well as Damian Swann, who suffered Week 5 and Week 8 concussions and hasn’t played since.  Swann is eager to return soon but is being cautious, which isn’t a bad idea since the Saints’ season is pretty much in the gutter.  Everyone else will be watched closely too.  The Saints will have one more practice Friday before they release their final injury report and statuses for Sunday.
