New Orleans Saints have NFL’s top offense again, and here’s why

5. The Saints score points

The New Orleans Saints score points, plain and simple.  While they’re not putting up numbers we saw in 2009 or 2011, the offense still ranks fourth in the NFL in total points scored (241) and sixth in points per game (26.8).

Scoring points wins games, obviously.  But thanks to the defense, opposing teams have outscored the Saints five times this season, unfortunately.  The offense can’t do it by themselves, but they’re surely trying.

With seven games left to go this season, quarterback Drew Brees and the offense will look to continue their success on that side of the ball.  A little help from the offensive line could help bump those numbers up, and maybe a better effort from the defense can result in more wins.
