Kai Forbath’s game winning kick

You could feel how tense the mood was in the Superdome during the final minutes of the shootout with the New York Giants. The Saints rallied to score with less than a minute to go in regulation, and everyone started getting nervous at the point after try. It was good, and the Saints tied the game at 49.

The Giants weren’t prepared to go into overtime, and proceeded to take a few shots to get within field goal range. However, it backfired. Brad Wing’s punt went to Marcus Murphy, who returned it 24 yards into Giants territory. The biggest mistake was that Wing went for a tackle and drew a facemask penalty that set the Saints up at the Giants 32-yard line with 5 seconds remaining.

After a Giants timeout attempting to ice Kai Forbath, nerves were on edge. Saints fans knew what was at stake. Forbath gave everyone a reason to shout from the rooftops after he drilled it from 50 yards, and the Saints won 52-49.
