In a contest filled with both highs and lows, the New Orleans Saints were able to pull off the upset and get the win over the Indianapolis Colts. It wasn’t all pretty, but Sean Payton and company proved to be the better team Sunday afternoon.
The thought of the Saints in the postseason was quite comical three weeks ago. A bad offensive line, a lack of playmakers, and a defensive front highlighted by a nonexistent pass rush have kept them at the bottom of the NFL power rankings.
But things seem to be coming together for this young, growing organization. The Black and Gold now find themselves in an interesting situation. Two-straight wins and a more than favorable stretch of schedule on the agenda give the Saints an opportunity to get right back into the playoff race by the end of November.
This is a different football team than we saw at the start of the season. Thanks to consistency over the past two weeks, the Who Dat Nation is still alive. We’ve learned a lot about this young club since their big Week 6 victory over the Atlanta Falcons, and thanks to Sunday’s win in Indy, we now know a little more:
