Making New Investments

Pursuing veteran free agents raises new questions:  would the league’s veteran free agents want to sign on with the New Orleans Saints?  Who would want to join a team led by a coach who has won only 22 of his last 41 games?  Would the Saints have to overpay for players on the fringe of quality performance, like the Oakland Raiders have had to do in recent years?  It’s not enough to have the funds to pursue valuable veterans; you also have to convince them that they want to play in your city.
