2. Rookie cornerbacks are looking sharp

The rookie corners apparently got off to a hot start overt the weekend.  The two who stood out were fifth-round pick Damian Swann and the free agent out of the Canadian Footall League, New Orleans native Delvin Breaux.

Payton also mentioned third-round pick P.J. Williams getting better as the weekend progressed, but it was Swann (fifth-round pick via trade up) who he specifically singled out.  Swann and Williams are in line to battle for the nickel spot in between Keenan Lewis and Brandon Browner.  It sounds like Breaux will be working on the outside.

After the Saints’ secondary severely disappointed in 2014, the hot start for the three corners comes as promising news for a unit that’s potential looks to be endless this upcoming season.
