1. A healthy weekend

It seems like every year we hear of somebody going down during the first weekend back to work.  The Jacksonville Jaguars took a stunning blow, losing their third-overall pick Dante Fowler Jr. for the season after he suffered an ACL tear last Thursday.

The next day, the Denver Broncos lost their third-round tight end Jeff Heuerman, who also tore his ACL.  It’s the NFL – freak accidents happen.  It’s always unfortunate to lose a man, but when it happens so early, it makes things that much worse.

The New Orleans Saints have been plagued by injury every year it seems.  It’s sad to say, but just getting through the first weekend without suffering any setbacks would make minicamp a success.  There are some promising rookies on the roster who could be game changers from day one.  The physicality must be kept to a minimum — there is too much talent to risk.
