Without question, Marques Colston is going to be a main component of the New Orleans Saints offense in 2015. Remaining relatively quiet through most things, it was evident through Colston’s final presser of the season that things ended with a lot of disappointment. Most importantly, his future was up in the air. Colston was gracious enough to take a pay cut to stay with the Saints on March 11th.

Last season, Drew Brees targeted Colston 99 times over sixteen games, and hauled in 59 grabs. Many would be quick to point out and remember the amount of drops last year, which was seven. Unfortunately, that was 14th most in the league. Colston still finished out the season with nearly 1,000 yards receiving (902), and had five touchdowns.

With younger receivers set to dominate the bulk of the roster, it’s going to be imperative that Colston continues to lead by example, and more importantly getting back in sync with Drew Brees. Colston still has a knack for hauling in some of the best catches over the years. I’d implore you to rewatch his touchdown grabs, and ask yourself if you could see any of the other Saints receivers coming up with some of those respective grabs.
