5. Payton and Loomis mean business
With all the craziness surrounding the New Orleans Saints franchise, it’s clear that Coach Payton and GM Mickey Loomis have their eyes on the future.
Trading away Drew Brees’ favorite weapon in Jimmy Graham is one example, while cutting RB Pierre Thomas, who has been a staple in the offense is another.
The extreme business decisions made by the front office were to help the team get under the cap to acquire players they feel will better this club. Even if that means saying goodbye to long-time fan favorites and veterans.
Don’t let the moves fool you though — a rebuild for the future is apparent, but the Saints are still very much all in for 2015.
